Departure Day

Well, the good news is that phase I, our cross country trip, went very well.  As I write, we are waiting in line to board the ferry to Juneau.

The ferry leaves in a few hours and can be seen in background , behind our silver van.  The trip to Juneau is 2 days and 10 hours, three nights.

Happy not to be camping.  We have an cabin for the next three nights

We had the bonus of seeing our son Dan, and going for nice hike near Bend, Oregon.

I don't have any photos, but we got to see our niece Carissa and her husband Jordan in Portland.  We had a nice overnight stay in their driveway.

It is a windy day (40 mph gusts) and hopefully we will be in sheltered areas for most of the journey.

We will be out of cell coverage for the next couple of days.  Hopefully, the next post will be from the Alaskan panhandle
