Seward - Anchorage - Whittier - Valdez

Well, we finally had our first rainy day in 2 weeks, which was just fine with us. After coffee at a church turned into a coffee and art shop, we went to an aquarium, the Seward Sea Life Center. It was a lot of fun learning about things we had seen over the past couple of weeks.

Since we had a day and a half before our ferry across Prince William Sound, we decided to go to Anchorage, which was a bit out of the way. We did our last major shopping for the trip and caught a movie.

After another outstanding night's sleep, we headed to Whittier. In order to get there, we had to take a 2.5 mile tunnel. This tunnel is one lane and services cars, both directions and a train (on an alternatingly schedule). The west side was cloudy and there was sunshine 10 minutes later when we arrived in Whittier. In Whittier, we caught the ferry to Valdez.

Our movement over the last couple of days

That is one big Sea Lion

        That was a huge snowblower

              The one lane tunnel

The main building in Whittier.  It is the home to the Post office, restaurants and most of the towns citizens.

Many, many beautiful sites from the ferry.

We saw some Orcas and Humpback Whales.  There is an Orca under that splash.

My best guess of where the Exxon Valdez went around (red dot)
